Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The event I going to be doing is to pull a car, one mile within one hour. I am looking to do this on 24/11/2013. I live close to Selby and I will be doing this down Leeds Road as this road is long, has no speed bumps and has paths on either side so people can also donate on the day, support the cause and cheer me on.
I am doing this event because someone close to my heart lost his battle with a brain tumour diagnosed when he was just 18 months old. His cheeky smile, courage and the bravery he showed for the 5 years he was with us encouraged me to do this event. I am also doing this because I am aware of how other families have been affected both in my area and across the UK by brain tumours and that awareness needs to be raised as well as all the help and support families need to get through the devasting time when loved ones are diagnosed.
I am doing this event in memory of Matthew Phillips - my beloved cousin - for those of you that didn't know him please don't let that put you off donating. Donate for friends, family or colleagues that you know, that are either being affected at the moment by a loved one having a brain tumour or have been affected by loosing someone to the battle of a brain tumour or have successfully battled cancer and have come out winning. You're donation will help towards more people winning their battle.
All your donations will help towards eventually finding a cure for brain tumours and hopefully helping to find a cure for all cancers in the future. Your donations will help towards Brain Tumour UKs dream of providing support, funding research and making a noise about the needs of brain tumour patients. They are devoted to improving the lives of everyone who is affected by a brain tumour. Together we can all make a difference to people who are affected by brain tumours.
All donations are welcome no matter how small, every donation will go towards supporting and funding research so please anything you can donate will be appreciated.
