Story

So here goes, As you now I'v been gallivanting around the world the past 15 months, I'm finally due home at the end of February, My time away has been literally life changing, and has made me open my eyes alot, especially in a way that I've realised I'm  more fortunate than alot of people in this world!

I have chosen this charity for a couple of reasons, Cancer is a horrible disease in any circumstance what-so ever, but when a young child is diagnosed with their whole life ahead of them is just wrong and anything we can do to help then its a no brainer, I also know people close to me who have lost loved ones to this horrible disease so even though it didn't effect me directly knowing the pain they went through and still do, massively pulls on my heart strings and makes me want to do anything I can to help

Anyone that knows me knows I don't do things by half and being as my life is one big roller coaster this could be the only chance I get to do a massive fundraiser in the near future or before my old man knees pack up! I did want to do the London Marathon but got turned down in the end who cares, its not the marathon your running its the cause you are doing it for.

Then I thought I may aswell go big and do it all in one hit so here is my fundraising event!

2 things that have helped me somehow worm my way through life are my incredible good looks ;) and my favourite past time alcohol!

So seeing as I missed a whole year of events I'm cramming them all into one!

Not only will I be running the Brighton Marathon on April the 12th, but from 21st Feb to the day of the marathon (barring a 3 day sabbatical for a pre planned Madrid trip) that's 38 days! (Iv gone past the usual dry month as I'm having a 3 day break in between) I will be quitting alcohol! add to this the month before the marathon I will be growing a lovely thick tash! I couldn't think of a play on words to sum it all up so drytashamarathon is the best i could get!

I will be putting on a few fundraisers when I'm back, one being a big quiz and party night on the April 5th so keep that night free in your diary's

Onto the fundraising side, again I like to do things outside the box and not to the norm, plus its a good incentive for you to all donate not that you should need any extra!! to really push towards my target £1500

So keeping to the children theme, and you may or may not know I'm slightly obsessed with Toy Story, my all time fav film growing up as a child (and still to this day) I have decided to set mini goals and each time one is raised, I will add something a bit different and unique to my fundraising events

£500 I will run the marathon dressed as Buzz Lightyear

£750 you all get the chance to decide how my final tash will look on the day of the marathon

£1250 I will get a picture of Buzz Lightyear tattooed on my body, probably my thigh!

And if we hit my target of

£2000  I will legally change my name by Deed pole to Buzz Lightyear this means there will be no more Samuel Thomas Stephens, I will be known on all my official documents, (passport driving license etc) and to the whole entire universe as Buzz Lightyear!

All these I will be paying for myself not out of the sponsorship so every penny donated goes to the charity

So there it is, I think there's enough there for you to warrant not that it should be needed! to donate a couple of English pounds! I will keep you updated with posts and photos, the first 6 weeks of my training will be easy running along the white sand beaches of Sydney when I come home and its cold and wet and I'm running along the River Torridge is where the fun begins!

Please donate however big/small it really does make a difference!!

Thank you all in advanced you wonderful magical people

Lets make a difference!
