Story
Throughout August, September and October Cynergy Bank colleagues will be taking part in various activities and events in aid of our nominated charity Noah's Ark Children's Hospice.
For my challenge I have decided to run the Marathon Des Sables which is a 251km race across the Sahara desert albeit it in the slightly cooler climes of Rabley Heath in Hertfordshire. From the 12th September to the 31st October I will run between 5km and 6km a day. I enjoy running but have been on a 8 month hiatus so this is throwing me back in the deep end and very much outside my comfort zone but the cause is could not be more deserving. To provide care for just one child at Noah's Ark is estimated at around £1,000 a day per child Every child deserves the best possible care with plenty of fun too.
Over the past year, the great outdoors has been a place of solace for most of us, but for many of the children supported by Noah’s Ark, accessing green space presents major challenges. Most public pathways are either inaccessible, or unsuitable for wheelchairs. In response, they are building a Sensory Garden and a fully accessible 1.2km trail around the stunning 7.5-acre nature reserve on which The Ark is set.https://www.noahsarkhospice.org.uk/get-involved/childrens-sensory-trail/Colleagues will be fundraising to support the construction of Pine Corner on the sensory Trail, with a matching pot from the Bank so please help us to achieve our goal by donating! There are various activities being undertaken and we will keep you posted on progress along the way! 1.2km October challenge - Walk/cycle/run 1.2km every day for the month of OctoberTriffic Trail, Trent Park 26 September - 10km trail raceTough Mudder, Morden Park 8/9 October - 5km or 10 mile course stacked full of epic obstacles.
