Story

Sammy passed peacefully at Arthur Rank hospice near Cambridge surrounded by her family 27.07.20.

Sammy battled cancer twice in her life, first at the age of 14 with the rare ‘ewing sarcoma’ (or as she ‘fondly’ called them her ‘ewings’) and again at the age of 33 with ‘metastatic’ bowel cancer and neuroendocrine tumours.

We are endlessly proud of Sammy, she showed continuous strength towards her diagnosis, and never stopped living her life throughout the past 10 months.

Sammy made such an impact on so many lives, and never stopped creating. She was a brilliant special needs teacher, amazing musician, hobby enthusiast and always gave to others.

She was an apt fundraiser, and requested any donations to go to these charities:

Arthur Rank hospice - for their impeccable care and support, they have gone above and beyond to make Sammy comfortable up until her last moments. We can’t thank the nurses and doctors enough for their kindness and compassion.

Neuroendocrine cancer UK - to continue to fund support on this rare cancer, it is a charity very close to our hearts. Sammys much loved brother Jack also passed away from this cancer 2 years prior.

Bridge School trust - Sammy loved her school, and was so passionate on helping special needs children. The school has been endlessly supportive throughout Sammys illness.
