Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We've joined together to take part in 2017 London Triathlon in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital who have looked after George since before birth.
In May 2016 at just over 3 months old, George underwent lifesaving open heart surgery at Great Ormond Street. He required a complex heart surgery due to a heart defect that was discovered during a routine pregnancy scan. The care that we have received from Great Ormond Street has been phenomenal, not only do they offer world class treatment but also a supportive and caring environment to patients and their families, during their most challenging and difficult times. Whilst sitting on the intensive care ward having witnessed how much work and funding is needed to allow the hospital to offer the latest medical facilities and treatments to more and more children, we made a commitment, as a family, that we would carry out a set of challenges to help raise these vital funds.
Sam, Matthew, Jenny and Dawn will be completing the 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run on Saturday 22nd July. George will be there cheering them on, something that GOSH has made possible.
Every day at GOSH is extraordinary, please help them to continue to help transform young lives
260 children arrive at GOSH everyday - many of whom are seriously ill and go straight into Intensive care
54 children undergo life changing operations at GOSH everyday
338 procedures are performed at GOSH everyday
644 potentially life changing research studies are active at GOSH every day.
Gosh has always depended on public support to help fund the most advanced equipment for treating the rarest and toughest conditions, to help fund pioneering research and to provide facilities to support the patients and their families.
Please give what you can!
Thank you!
PS :George sends you a BIG thank you kiss!!!
