Story
KIDS support over 11,000 disabled children, young people and their families every year by delivering over 120 services throughout England. KIDS is unique; there is no other organisation dedicated to providing such an extensive range of services to disabled children and young people, aged 0-25 years, irrespective of their impairment or condition.
I've been working for KIDS now for nearly 18 months and I've seen first hand what a vital difference KIDS services makes to the lives of disabled children, young people and their families. From our office, we provide Information and Support through our 'Independent Support' service; Respite through our 'Short Breaks' service and a range of clubs, and personal development/independence groups via our 'Play & Leisure' team.
In order for these incredible services to continue for our families, we rely on the generosity of others to help support our fundraising efforts.
Some of the awesome people I work with have put themselves through gruelling marathons to help the cause... I sadly am not quite in the physical condition to take on one of these challenges but I AM determined to challenge myself in a different way. On October 31st (Halloween!) this year I'll be descending the colossal training tower at the Avon Fire and Rescue Headquarters - in full halloween costume! I'm not tooo bad with heights as a general rule but this is going to be a bit of a jelly legger as I'm not the most stable or agile of beings... and being at the top of such a gargantuan drop with only a bit of rope securing me from my doom does fill me with quite a measure of dread!
I would be enormously grateful if you could show support for my monstrous challenge - as well as for the amazing cause - and donate anything you can towards my goal.
Thanks for reading - beardy hugs to you all! xx
