Phil and Pete are training hard in preparation for the Brighton Marathon to raise money for the Winchester branch of the Samaritans.

The Winchester branch has over 100 unpaid Volunteers from all walks of life, who give up their time to provide this service.

They provide confidential and non-judgemental support in alleviating emotional distress and reducing the incidence of suicidal feelings and suicidal behaviour.

The Winchester branch alone receives 44,000 calls a year showing the need for such a service and the emotional distress prevalent in the community.

The Samaritans in general are autonomous charities based in cities and towns. Each is responsible for raising its own funds as funding is not received from the state.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
