Story
Sam was diagnosed with terminal cancer in November 2021, she responded with typical resolve and determination, going through grueling chemotherapy with amazing strength and dignity. Sadly the cancer proved too aggressive to be treated, and she passed away in July 2022, leaving behind an unimaginable hole in her family. She is missed beyond measure by all those who knew and loved her x.
Sam's family and friends are undertaking a number of fundraising challenges in 2023 to raise funds for two charities :
Severn Hospice : Home - Severn Hospice
In her last month, Severn Hospice provided an extraordinary level of care for Sam, showing her sensitivity and compassion beyond any of our expectations. They allowed Sam to spend those last few precious weeks with her family beside her, we will be eternally grateful for that time, and the comfort it brought Sam.
The Cavalier Centre : Cavalier Centre | Horse Riding Equestrian Activities for the Disabled
Sam had the most rewarding phase of her working life at The Cavalier Centre, working with truly remarkable people to help those with a range of disabilities develop life skills, emotional intelligence and wellbeing, through various activities involving horses. As a charity with over 170 volunteers they rely on charitable donations for a large proportion of their funding - I would encourage you to visit the website to get a better understanding of the Centre and what it offers to those who benefit from all their hard work.

The events we are variously taking part in are :
The Stafford Half Marathon :
Stafford Half Marathon 2023 | Freedom Leisure (freedom-leisure.co.uk)
Completed !! - That was a tough run, but Will and I made it and are still just about walking - I know I had someone helping me get through the last 2 miles x
The Bridgnorth 22 mile walk : From Bridgnorth to the top of Brown Clee and back :
About The Event - Bridgnorth Walk and Marathon
Completed !! -
12 of Sam's family and friends completed the walk on May 1st. It is quite a gruelling event, walking for anywhere between 5 and 7 hours on Shropshire’s finest and hilliest roads – many finished with blisters and aching limbs – but we all finished – thankyou to all those who took part and those who tirelessly supported us along the way - I think Sam would have been very proud of everybody x
Mt Kilimanjaro : A 7 day trek to the top of Africa (and back !)
Erin, Isla, Myself, Adam, Dai and Helen will be attempting to reach the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro in August
Update : We all made the summit on Thursday 24-08-2023, we all had to dig very deep just to keep moving in the last few hours to the top - but we all made it, together as a team, all of us with Sam in our hearts. x
Dartmoor 13 Tors Trek :
Erin, Isla, Myself, Julie and Darin will be yomping across Dartmoor in October - 13 Tors in 1 day. We will independently be raising funds for Marie Curie, another Charity who provide care and support just like the Severn Hospice
