24th July update - yeahhh we did it! Set off at 2.45am to climb Snowdon and reached the bottom of Pen-y-Fan at 12.30am. We all finished in a time of 21 hours and 45 minutes. Thanks to you all for your support.

Our major challenge for 2010 is to climb Three Peaks in Wales - Snowdon, Cadaer Idris and Pen y Fan - in 24 hours. A team of 6 of us will start at around 5am on 24th July, and will be finished sometime later that day/night!
The first 'Peak' is Snowdon (that's in the north just in case you've never been to Wales!). Snowdon is the highest British mountain south of the Scottish Grampians and no, we will not be taking the little train to reach the summit, but yes, we probably will visit the famous cafe at the summit.........
then it's Cadaer Idris - legend has it that Idris' Chair refers to a seat like formation where anyone spending the night will become a poet - a good excuse for us to get a move on then and onto .........
our last 'Peak' - Pen-y-Fan - the highest summit in south Wales - with apparently 'awesome views' (by that stage we must remember to look out for them).
Most importantly, we are climbing the Three Peaks to support Gofal Cymru.
Gofal Cymru supports people in mental distress and promotes mental wellbeing. Working to promote independence and recovery, Gofal aims to provide services that are flexible and responsive to individual need and which result in making a positive difference to those experiencing mental ill health.
Given that mental ill health affects 1 in 4 people in the UK there can't be a better reason than to support such a fantastic organisation...........
If you would like to support Gofal Cymru donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you very much for taking time to visit our just giving page and think of us all on 24th July.
Very best wishes
