Story
My mummy was that crazy person that you would see in the pouring rain on a freezing cold November evening, running up the biggest hill she could find, probably dragging the dog along behind her! She was always on the go, and if she hadn't got sick she would have just got back from climbing Mt Kilimanjaro with her friends, something she was looking forward to so much!
In her memory, her friends from Grantham AC have organised this charity Run/Walk 10km to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, who helped her for the short time she was poorly in hospital, and would have been there for her if she had come home too!
Macmillan help with the everyday side of cancer, the things its easy to forget still exist, like money worries and bills and understanding your treatment, at a time when you just want to focus on getting better, or helping someone you love to recover. Mum was only poorly for two months, but during that time the nurses from Macmillan came to see her regularly to talk to her and make sure she was doing ok, they were always really nice and helpful and supportive!
Thank you for donating to support everyone doing this race, and also those who are still living with cancer everyday!
Lastly, please remember to say 'I love you' to the people you love whenever you get the chance, because you cannot always guarantee that you will get the same chance tomorrow!
