Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I gratefully have not had to deal with any family or friend that has suffered badly from the effects of different cancers, however this does not mean that I shouldn't make the effort to raise money. A number of my family members have had, and recovered from cases for cancers that were caught quickly and therefore didn't have a big and lasting impact on their lives. One member of the family lost a child to blood cancer. 'IT' happens and can happen to anyone. This is why we need to support charities that work hard to find measures to treat / prevent and to care for those in desperate need - sufferers and carers alike.

Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research is the only UK charity solely dedicated to research into blood cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.  

Blood cancers can affect all people of all ages and around 28,500 people are diagnosed each year in the UK. Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research work hard carrying out research into finding causes, improving diagnosis and treatments including carrying out ground breaking clinical trials. This all costs money and over the next 5 years the charity has to raise over £100million to be able to continue with the life saving / changing research. The charity is run ENTIRELY on voluntary support, and so receives no government funding.

Help me to raise money for the very worthy and needed charity by support me when I take part in the BUPA Great North Run, September 2011! Every penny counts (to quote a multimillion pound international business!) so whatever you have to spare will be gratefully received and if you wish to support me on the day feel free!!
