We made our way up to a remote village, just to see a school. Child Rescue Nepal sponsors a mid day meal programme there, where free lunches are provided everyday. The families are so poor, it’s the only meal the children have through out the day. Attendance has gone up 42% since then. This is the first generation to go to school. Most of the mothers are totally illiterate. We slept the night on the classroom floor, and left just as the children were walking up the mountain to school. Some have to walk for 90mins.
