We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

As well as a much-respected journalist and broadcaster in the caravan and motorcaravan industry, John Wickersham was also my dad.

He was diagnosed with cancer in November 2014. Following a year long battle with this horrendous disease, he sadly passed away on 5 December 2015 aged 73.

It's desperately sad as he was such a fit man, a non-drinker and a non-smoker. He had a real passion for life and was an inspiration to many. We thought he had beaten it in August this year only for it to come back again with a vengeance and there was simply nothing they could do to stop it.

This disease does not discriminate and I want to raise funds to help find a cure so other families don't lose a husband, a father, and a grandfather like we did.

I am jointly fundraising for Cancer Research UK and Sue Ryder St John's Hospice in Moggerhanger, where dad spent his last few days in this world. I am hoping to raise similar amounts for each charity so please consider splitting any donation between these two fantastic charities.
