Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Some of you who know me will know that I have a strong connection with Muscular Dystrophy UK since running the marathon for them in 2018. My uncle, Byron, had a variant of the condition before eventually losing his brave battle just before Christmas, 2019. A true hero that lived everyday with a smile on his face, despite living on life support and unable to get out of his chair for many many years. He is sorely missed.
Unfortunately, the pandemic has meant that I (and others!) have not been able to get out there and raise the vital funds that MDUK need. As hopes of lives returning to normal increase, so does my aim to make Byron proud once more; by donning that orange vest and getting back on that start line. However, this year is different...
Instead of one marathon, I will be completing FOUR. These will be either side of two half marathons and in this order: Berlin > London > Royal Parks Half > Lisbon Half > Ljubljana > Frankfurt. All events will take place in consecutive weeks, starting on 26 September and finishing on 31 October. 2 marathons / 2 halves / 2 marathons. 6 weeks. My 2-2-2 Challenge.
Any money you can spare, no matter how big and small will go a long way to help support those children and adults who need it most, helping them to lead as comfortable a life as they can. It will also go towards vital research in the hope that medical experts can find a cure to the horrid condition.
Thank you for visiting my page. I hope you can help me to make my uncle proud once more...
