Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

My Mum was diagnosed with MS 20 years ago. To start with her illness was manageable, but the last 4 years have seen an accelerated deterioration in her condition; her pain levels and leg spasms have spiralled; her mobility has gone, impacting the simplest of actions like swallowing and talking. We live far away from my parents and it is heartbreaking to see the changes each time we visit.  My Dad is her full time carer; the care he gives is physically and mentally draining.  She falls often and he can no longer get her off the floor.  He has to call the paramedics to help him get her up, but she is low priority and can lie there for a couple of hours waiting. The neighbours help too, but my Mum, inspite of it all, is embarrassed.

So you see, MS is an awful disease, and one that impacts massively on both the sufferer and the carer. That is why I am doing this run, to support the MS Society in their continued search for a cure.
