Story
As many of you know, I’ve kept sane in 2020 training for a
100 mile running race along the South Downs. Originally scheduled for May, it
was delayed till November – only to be cancelled when 2nd Lockdown
came in 72hrs before the race start!
Not be deterred and with the incredible organization skills
of my loving wife Kat, we have decided to crack ahead regardless – running 100
miles along the Thames path from the edge of Oxford to Putney!
We have a map, several socially distanced check points and lots
of energy bars – aim is to start at 9am and try to make it to Putney for a
sunrise breakfast around 24hrs later! Blisters, Lost toe nails, Cramp…hopefully no Thames dips in the dead of night involved!
I am running in aid of Challenged Athletes Foundation – a charity
we’ve been involved with for some years now that does truly inspirational work
ensuring that the power of sport isn’t lost on those less able.
HUGE Thanks in advance for any and all support – this might sound
an epic challenge to us, but we know its nothing compared to the daily
challenges faced by those supported by CAF.
