On the 10th September 2011 my dad underwent a heart transplant at Papworth Hospital.
3 months earlier, after undergoing multiple heart attacks, CPR, 10 shocks and a 2 week coma, he woke up attached to ECMO life support. He remained bed-bound with this machine waiting for a heart transplant. Many people die waiting for a suitable match, however he was one of the lucky few able to survive long enough for a match to be found. 7 years on and he is fitter and healthier than ever. If it wasn't for the tireless efforts of the Papworth team during my dad's stay he would not be here today. Please please donate anything you can, THANKS! x
