Story

Batten Disease is a group of rare genetic inherited metabolic neurodegenerative diseases that occur in children and adults worldwide. Batten Disease is the most common paediatric neurodegenerative disorder in the UK. The children and young people that are affected by the disease suffer from a progressive deterioration of the brain and nervous system which eventually results in death. Our understanding of the disease is growing all the time but, at present there is no cure.

The Batten Disease Family Association is the UK's only patient organisation set up to support affected families and to facilitate research into the disease. Our aim is to 'Bring Light to Batten Disease'.

On the 22nd May 2010 Sam, Rich, Elijah and Snoop will be taking part in the BDFA's annual sponsored walk in Bourton-on-the Water to raise valuable funds for the BDFA.

Please support us if you can and help to fight this devastating disease.......
