This Trust has been set up in memory of Max Windle who sadly passed away in January 2021 at the age of 16. The trust will support both local and national charities which focus on improving mental health, including depression, anxiety and suicide prevention, in children and young adults.

Story

Tomorrow, I will compete in the IRONMAN Texas Triathlon. Part of the inspiration for this race is the opportunity to raise money for the Max Windle Memorial Trust for mental health. When I lived in England, I swam with Max. Max was recently recognised as a BBC Sports Personality alongside athletes such as English World Cup 1966 winner, Jimmy Greaves. Not only was Max an extremely impressive athlete, but he was also a joy to be around. He always carried a smile on his face and his humor and kindness helped ensure that others carried smiles too.

In the wake of his death in January 2021, his family and close friends created the Max Windle Memorial Trust in order to foster awareness for mental health in young adults. I am excited to raise money for this cause and make a difference in improving Mental Health awareness efforts in the United Kingdom.
