Story
THANK YOU for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
My name is Sam and I am currently training to complete the Vertical Rush 'Vertical Mile' hosted by Shelter Uk! The challenge is a 9320 step climb (equivalent to one vertical mile) up Tower 42 in Central London.
And we need your help.
I have chosen to support Shelter UK as living situations today are becoming incredibly alarming (the number of people sleeping rough has increased over 140% in the past decade alone and a child becomes homeless every 8 minutes) and because I have personally been without shelter in the past. Therefore this is a very personal journey to me and now having the chance to extend a hand so someone else can avoid the worry, dread and daunting prospect of not having a home or help is worthy of a challenge.
My current role is as an Estate Agent for McMahon & Partners of Newington Causeway, a fantastic independent team who have supported me through my training and offered to become my main sponsor for the event. As we work within Central London (the area with the highest rates of homelessness in the country) the issue is very close to our hearts and this event is a great opportunity to raise awareness and funds for those in need.
Furthermore, the effort and lengths the Shelter UK team go to is greatly appreciated. The charity fundraising, volunteering and organisation it takes to generate an event such as this is immensely challenging and should not be underestimated. Therefore, if you would consider helping however you can, it would be go a long way.
The aim is to raise £350 for the event, and anything above that would of course improve the lives of many who need it.
