Story
It's been nearly one whole year that my beautiful sister Lyndsey lost her short battle to bowel cancer at the young age of 44. I can honestly say that our lives changed forever on 5th November 2021 and that they will never be the same again.
My sister was my best friend. When I needed a shoulder to cry on she would be there, she was there to help in every way, be it to help choose a dress for a wedding to holding my hair back while I was sick after a few drinks lol. I miss her more and more every single second of the day.
Lyns left behind her amazing strong husband Den, her gorgeous children Grace and Dylan and her step daughter Lauren as well as her grandson, her siblings, mum and dad, nieces and nephews and many friends who loved Lyns so dearly. She has really left a hole in everyones hearts.
Bowel cancer is the second biggest killer in the UK and as like Lyns many will not even have any symptoms until it is too late. I want to raise awareness around this. If you have any change in bowel habit, blood in your poo or generally not feeling your self go get checked. I know it can be uncomfortable to talk about poo but we all do it and it could just save a life.
As we know so many people and loved ones are affected by this cruel illness, one of our walkers also sadly lost her dad Jack to bowel cancer at the young age of 54. We know he would be so proud of her for doing this and like Lyns he will be with us every step of the way.
