Story
Thanks for supporting my fundraising!
Call it a mid life crisis if you want but I’ve always found the London marathon such an inspiring event and have always wanted to run it again (last time 2006). Such a big event deserves an extra special effort and what better way than to remember my dad and raise much needed money for a fantastic charity.
Cancer has, unfortunately, touched most of our lives and our family is no different. 3 years ago we lost my dad to mesothelioma leaving us devastated and heartbroken. Dad, Kev, Dicko or “The Professor “ was the heart and sole of our family and highly thought of by everyone he met. Therefore running such an iconic event seems a fitting tribute to a remarkable man. I’m sure it would be something he would be proud of and hopefully will give me that extra help along the way.
Macmillan have been incredibly generous and have given me the opportunity to run for them they have always been a fantastic source of help and support to so many people as well as our family. They certainly were hugely helpful to Larissa (my wife) and her mum during her battle with breast cancer, fortunately surviving.
Therefore, thank you for your support to me and giving something back to Macmillan and helping to continue their vital work.
I shall have a Doom Bar and glass of Sauvignon Blanc at the finish line. Cheers to you dad!
