Thanks for visiting my fundraising page for the Club Peloton Cycle to MIPIM - the annual relay ride from London to the MIPIM property fair in Cannes raising money for projects transforming young lives
Back in Spring 2020 I was preparing to take part in that year's Cycle to MIPIM when we were all plunged into the COVID-19 pandemic and the ride was sadly (but rightly) cancelled just days before we were due to set off.
After getting so close to the start line in 2020 and raising £3,000 in the process, I'm delighted to be coming back finish what I started. I'm also aiming to add at least another £1,000 to my fundraising effort.
You might have already sponsored me in 2020, but hopefully that won't stop you doing so in 2023!
From 8-14 March I'll be cycling up to 1,438km across 7 days to raise money for the fantastic charity Coram and other Club Peloton beneficiaries - including Cyclists Fighting Cancer, Tom AP Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust and Multiple System Atrophy Trust.
I’ve taken part in sporting challenges in the past, but this will undoubtedly be my biggest to date. I’ll be aiming to complete as many stages of the ride as possible and will try to document as much of the journey on Twitter (follow @samw152 and @cascade_comms).
I’ll be the third member of Cascade team to take on this hefty challenge, raising over £7,000 in the process.
Which takes me onto the most important stuff, the fundraising and amazing charities!
The funds raised through Cycle to MIPIM will support the vital work of Coram, Club Peloton's main charity beneficiary, which receives 60% of grants. Coram champions the rights and welfare of children and believes every child should have the best chance of a fulfilling life.
Coram began more than 275 years ago when it was established by Thomas Coram as the Foundling Hospital - London's first home for babies whose mothers were unable to care for them themselves.
Coram helps hundreds of thousands of vulnerable children and young people every single year by developing skills, building emotional strength, upholding children's rights and finding adoptive parents for those in the greatest need.Club Peloton's other charity beneficiaries, Cyclists Fighting Cancer, MSA Trust and Tom's Trust, will receive a proportion of fundraising.
How will your sponsorship help?
- £550 will enable Coram Adoption to identify and prepare adoptive parents
- £1,500 will provide post-adoption support to a child and their new family
- £5,500 is the full cost of an adoption placement for a vulnerable child, from start to finish
