On April 25th 2015, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal near the capital city of Kathmandu, the worst of its kind in over 80 years. 9,000 people were killed, and a further 23,000 injured.

Story

So, 2017 has been a roller coaster for me so far! It's been difficult at times and a lot of things have changed, but it's provided me with some perspective.  I've had a great and fortunate life, and I really want to do something to give something back whilst I have the opportunity.

Nepal suffered a major earthquake in 2015 that killed 9,000 people, injured nearly 22,000 and devastated the infrastructure.  Since then a few friends of mine have visited Nepal to volunteer on projects helping to rebuild the country - and I've been inspired to do the same.

The project I'm visiting is to help rebuild schools - places of learning, friendship and community, and places we can't imagine life without.  As well as my hands on help out there physically building the school, I'd love to also raise some money for this amazing charity.

I'm funding my trip for my 30th birthday (eek!), which I will be celebrating during my fortnight out there, so all money raised will go directly to this very important cause.

For those who know me, you'll understand that this is a completely out of my comfort zone, but I'm determined to do it and to get as much out of this experience as I can. I'm genuinely really excited for it!

I hope you will be so kind to support the charity - any donations would be amazing.  Thank you for your support!
