Story
To kick off the year I have decided to run the Hackney half-marathon to try and raise money for the Single Homeless Project, a not-for-profit organisation that helps prevent homelessness. The charity provides essential support through accommodation, psychology, education and employment opportunities across all London boroughs.
With factors like the cost-of-living crisis, a significant shortage of affordable housing and insufficient funding for homelessness services, the number of people sleeping rough has increased in recent years.
This cause is something that has always been personally distressing and an issue I wanted to positively impact. As such, I will be running my first half marathon, the Hackney Half, on the 19th of May. My goal is to try and raise £1,000 for the Single Homeless Project and run the half in under two hours (ideally 1:45).
Any donations are greatly appreciated, and all support is welcomed!
Thanks!
Sam
