Story
The Stan Bowley Trust became a registered Charity in October 2011. Formed by friends and family of Alan Stan Bowley, a former Staffordshire police officer who died of cancer. Stans journey with cancer began in June 2000. He received traditional surgery to remove a tumour from his duodenum and part of his pancreas.
Seven years later he received the devastating news that cancer had returned. It was growing around a major blood vessel and the signs were not favourable.
At this stage Stan discovered CyberKnife. CyberKnife was not available in the UK. only available in Europe and beyond. Due to the lack of expertise in relation to Stans condition in Europe it was decided that Washington D.C. was the place for him to be treated. Once there, he successfully received the CyberKnife treatment and a couple of days later he flew home.
We knew that CyberKnife should be available in the UK and the Charity was therefore born
