Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.
As most of you will know 10 years ago I lost my husband, Rob, very suddenly at the age of 38 to an acute myocardial infarction ( heart attack) whilst out walking up in the Lake District. There were no warning signs or symptoms that anything was wrong. Rob left behind not only myself but also his two children, Cara-Beth and Aaron who at the time were only 10 and 7 years old. If he is looking down on them today he will be immensely proud of the young adults they have become. Rob also left behind lots of friends and family members including his mum, dad and brother who all miss him immensely.
A year ago I joined a local running club starting with the couch to 5k programme to initially help to build my fitness. I never thought I would be able to run for 10 minutes let alone build it up to 10k! Now I find myself signed up to do the London Landmarks half marathon at the end of March!! This will be my first ever half marathon and will most certainly be a challenge but Kathy assures me she will drag me round! I am hoping that through your kind donations this will help to motivate me to get to the end and cross the finish line in the knowledge that the money raised will be put towards helping to research heart conditions further and stop other families experiencing the same heartache that myself and my children have felt.
Please give what you can, every penny helps towards this brilliant cause.
Many thanks!
