Story
Hello!
I'll be trekking the Himalayas this October in aid of the Prince's Trust.
I'll be trekking up to 9 hours a day for 7 days through a range of challenging environments and climates.
The first 3 days will be immediate and challenging acclimatisation for me, with around 20 hours of trekking ascending through steep, winding hillside woodland and stone steps towards the fishtail peak of Machupucchare at 2800m.
Day 4 will see a difficult day of descending back down to 2000m and then back up to 2500m through the shady Rhododendron Forest to Sikles, famous its fighting men, the Gurkhas.
The final three days will be tough on the knees with a gruelling descent, back through forests, fields and valleys. On Day 5 alone we’ll be descending 700m in one stretch!
All of this is in aid of a fantastic charity, the Prince’s Trust. The Prince’s Trust helps young people all over the UK into work, training and volunteering. From programmes helping children in care making the transition to independence to helping 13-19 year olds at risk of underachievement or exclusion from school the Prince’s Trust helps to ensure young people have the best possible opportunity to succeed into adulthood.
Thank you for your support!
