Story
Hello, for those who don’t know me, thank you for taking the time to visit my page. My name is Sally Nisbet and I am an open water swimmer. This August I am taking on the length of Loch Lomond swim. The swim is approximately 22 miles/35km and should take me around 12 hours.
I’ve always loved being in the open water and for the last three years I have been lucky enough to use it as an escape . Any time I am feeling stressed or upset I always find my way back to open water and the peace it brings me.
Since I was 8 I have dreamt of swimming the channel and, as Loch Lomond is the same length and is closer to home I have decided this was the perfect challenge for me.
I am increasing aware that there are so many people who cannot find the type of escape that I do from open water swimming and therefore I am raising money for SAMH (the Scottish association of mental health) in order to help others find their escape in their bad times.
Over the last months I have been training extremely hard. The 4:30am Saturday mornings are not an easy task and my shoulders are almost always sore. However, the thought of this incredible cause and completion of the challenge have pushed me to keep going.
There have been mental blocks and early morning tears as I am constantly pushing my mental and physical strength, but I know I can do it.
Thank you so much for visiting my page and taking the time to read this. You are helping me help others through donating and supporting me through this challenge.
