Story

The Cheshire YFC Top Table are running the Chester Half Marathon on behalf of The MPS Society UK. Sally-Ann, Reuben, Vicki, Tom and Emily will attempt to complete this half marathon - this is a sight not to be missed! The MPS society is the only UK charity which supports children and their family's with MPS 3a - sanfilippo. Its a rare terminal disease that effects 1 in 80,000 children which sadly has no cure to date. Known as childhood dementia, MPS takes away a childs ability to walk, talk and eat before devastatingly taking their life by early teenage years. Sadly last year Phil and Hannah Goodwin had the devastating news that their precious little boy Freddie was diagnosed with MPS at just under 2 years old, the MPS society has been a great support to them through their unknown journey which lies ahead. Phil and Hannah and their families have always been true and keen supporters of the Cheshire YFC movement, Hannah is a past County Lady Chairman and Franklin Goodwin a past County President. Therefore, there was no hesitation in deciding upon our chosen charity for the year and show our support for Phil and Hannah after all those years of their support for Cheshire YFC. Your support and donations towards our half marathon will support Phil and Hannah and will be greatly appreciated! Hopefully we will all make it through the whole race!!
