We are running our first marathon together in York this October. We are excited and terrified about this in equal measures! We have chosen to raise money for Zarach, which is a local charity. We have both been teachers for most of our careers and are passionate that every child should have an equal chance to learn and succeed at school.

Thousands of children in Leeds are going to sleep hungry and cold without a proper bed of their own. Poverty is a real problem that has a significant effect on a child’s education. By providing something to eat and a good night’s sleep, we hope to help children living in poverty. Together, we can meet their basic needs, give them a good night’s sleep and an equal opportunity at school. If we don’t act now, these children will remain cold, hungry and tired. We can make a difference.

£150 provides a 'Bed Bundle' which includes a brand new bed, mattress, duvet, pillow, bed sheets, pyjamas and hygiene kit. Zarach also work with local partners to include food parcels and if needed, school uniforms. We would love to be able to provide a bed bundle for those in need through our fundraising.
