Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 23rd June this year me and my friend Amy Molloy will be walking 10 miles to raise money for Parkinson's UK at this event http://www.parkinsons.org.uk/chatsworthwalk

We will walk in memory of my amazing Grandad Dennis Hawley who passed away on the 23rd June last year from the disease. He was such an incredible man, granddad and father and as it will be almost a year to the day he died, we thought this would be a fitting tribute to him.

As a family we spent many happy days out at Chatsworth House and at many other places in Derbyshire too. Grandad loved walking and Derbyshire particularly and I have so many happy memories of days out as a family because of his enthusiasm.

He was poorly for a long time before he passed away and sadly the disease took his mobility so he had to give up his love of walking. Whatever we raise here by walking in his memory will go towards hopefully stopping this happening to more families in the future. Any amount you can spare would therefore be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much in advance,

Sally

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
