Story
My colleagues and I at Avondale have decided to give up some precious time to give something back. We have chosen the Rainbow Trust Children's Charity who provides fantastic support to terminally ill children and their families. The Rainbow Trust originated in Surrey, local to us, but are continuing their pledge to one day ensure that every family in the UK has access to a Rainbow Trust centre. We believe this is a truly worthy cause and hope you do too.
Now on to the amusing part….. The general consensus amongst my colleagues was that our event should be focused around exercise, and the aim is that Avondale aims to travel at least 1,000 miles in the month of May, which is the equivalent of London to Southern Spain or Sweden. Our miles can be earned by walking, swimming, rowing, running or cycling.
Now, you probably know that exercise and I are not natural bedfellows, so this truly is a challenge to me. As you can see from my photos, I could not find a single one of me exercising, but did find one near water….. I also found one of me (I promise it is me) flying a plane, but apparently “air miles” are not being counted in this challenge.
And here comes the pleading…….I personally am aiming to travel 100 miles swimming and walking in May, which may not sound like a lot, but for a conformed driver, it is. We would appreciate any contribution you can make, however small or large, to this wonderful charity, and as a bonus Kevin, our M.D., is also going to donate £1 for every mile we achieve.
Thank you for your time reading this, and thank you in advance for your generosity.
