Story
My sister, cousin and I are all running the muddy 5K in York to raise money in honour of an extraordinary woman we were lucky enough to call our Granny. Our Granny sadly lost her battle after 9 months of fighting brain cancer and she is terribly missed and always will be. She was a: wife, mother, sister, grandparent, dog lover and friend to all. This Irish firecracker was so strong and managed find the strength to hold on and meet one of the new additions to the family, a grand daughter from New Zealand and her son who she hadn't seen for many years.
The Macmillan cancer support were fantastic. They managed to get her all the fixtures and fittings to make her home comfortable and accessible for her to keep her independence for as long as possible. They weren't only supportive to her but also the family.
If enough money is raised I'd also like to donate some to St Leonard's hospice as they also have a place in my heart. Granny was in there for many weeks and they staff there treated her like the Queen she always was. They were even happy to give her accommodation when the floods happened in York at the beginning of 2016 and when my Granny's house was at risk of flooding.
Myself and my family will forever be thankful for the help and support we and Josephine received. Please help us give something back and please donate what you can, anything will mean the world to myself and my family.
Thank you.
