Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2010, I tragically lost my beloved husband, Steve Wright, to kidney cancer at the age of 41. Woking Hospice provided invaluable care during this difficult time, making a heartbreaking situation more manageable. Fast forward 13 years, and at the end of 2023, I witnessed my dear friend Jane Bell, aged 49, lose her battle against cancer at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. Cancer is an indiscriminate and cruel disease that takes loved ones without mercy. Both Steve and Jane were incredible individuals who held a special place in my heart.
Having personally witnessed the impact hospices have on both patients and their families, I recognise the significance of these special places.
In an effort to give back to these invaluable hospices, I've chosen to tackle the formidable challenge of running the London Marathon to raise funds for Woking Hospice. Running is not something that comes naturally to me, and it will require countless hours of training to prepare for the marathon. As I pound the cold streets of Surrey in preparation, I would be incredibly grateful for your support in my mission to raise funds for Woking Hospice. Whether it's a small or large contribution, every amount is sincerely appreciated.
I commit to sharing photos and updates throughout my training journey.
If you find yourself free and able to come to London on April 21st, I would greatly appreciate your support - I'll undoubtedly need the encouragement! Your support means a lot to me, and having friendly faces in the crowd would make the challenging journey all the more worthwhile.
Thank you for considering supporting this important cause.
