Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know, I am a keen supported of The Eve Appeal (gynaecology
cancer research fund – fighting women’s cancers) and have been fund-raising for
them for over five years in memory of my darling Mother who died of ovarian
cancer at the age of 54.
During the last five years I have taken
part in two overseas challenges – trekking part of The Great Wall of China and
trekking The Lares Trail in Peru
- raising nearly £12,000 for this most worthwhile Charity.
I am now undertaking another trekking
challenge this year on 10th May taking part in The Eve Appeal’s
Trekathon, a marathon hike of 26 miles in just one day along part of Hadrian’s
Wall, although not quite so far away this time it will still be extremely tough
challenge in itself.
Hadrian’s Wall was built in AD122 on
the orders of the Roman Emperor Hadrian, and stretched from the East to West
coasts of Britain,
from Bowness on Solway in the West to Wallsend in the East! We will be taking in some fascinating ruins
of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, cutting through Northumberland National
Park, filled with stunning scenery and history,
however, the gradient ascending further with every mile!!!
I’m only a few pounds off my target and would really appreciate a donation,
however small or large, as they all add up!!!
Thank you so much.
