Sally, Toni and Sian are doing a Tandem Skydive on Saturday the 25th of September in order to raise funds for St Kentigern Hospice in St Asaph, North Wales.
This hospice works tirelessly to maintain a high level of patient care by meeting the needs of people with active, progressive or advanced illness. St Kentigern Hospice strive to provide the highest quality palliative care and promote the highest quality of life with continuing support for families and carers.
- St Kentigern's Nurse-led inpatient unit provides much-needed symptom control, continuing care, rehabilitation, respite care and end of life care.
- The Family support service at St Kentigern Hospice provides emotional and psychological support for those affected by a life-limiting illness, and also bereavement support, suitable for accommodating individual needs.
- St Kentigern strives to provide a service which treats the patient and the families of patients as individuals, and offer Spiritual care by a team of chaplains which offer support to patients, families, carers, staff and volunteers.
- St Kentigern has a Day Therapy Unit which is therapy led and sets personalised goals around each patient's individual needs - providing physical, psychological, social and spiritual care to enable patients to achieve a good quality of life and enables them to continue to enjoy it - while coping with their illness. This service is provided on a self-referral basis.
St Kentigern's inpatient unit has eight beds, and the day therapy unit has 15 places available. For vital work such as end of life care and symptom control for those with life-threatening and terminal illness.
St Kentigern is a fantastic Hospice which provides a much-needed service within North Wales. However, it is mostly supported by donations - which form 80% of it's income.
