Story
The Christian Aid committee of Churches Together in Salisbury works with most congregations in the city to raise funds and campaign on behalf of Christian Aid's partners in the world's most disadvantaged countries.
The Covid pandemic bears down on our overseas partners who have fewer resources, but it also affects our fundraising and campaigning activities.
In normal years we raise around £20,000 each year through the House-to-House collection and supplement this with special collections and events throughout the year, including a Christmas Street collection, Lent lunches special appeals.
We campaign on issues of Climate change and Debt relief, acknowledging that many causes of poverty are systemic and need a change of systems that is beyond individual action and requires more than 'sticking-plaster' solutions.
