Story
The Salford Carers Centre team are incredibly committed to helping and supporting unpaid carers in Salford. Funding for services for unpaid carers is never enough to meet the needs of those who we help so we try to raise funds when and where we can.
If you can donate even a small amount to see us don an elf outfit and run round Salford Quays on a chilly December day it will all go towards supporting unpaid carers in Salford.
To give you an idea of those we support, let me tell you about Agnes. Agnes cares for her husband with dementia, Agnes is 84. She can't leave her husband on his own at all, she worries constantly about him and never gets a break. A neighbour is able to sit with her husband on Thursday mornings so she can come along to our Carers Breakfast for a shore respite from her caring role.
If you can donate to our jog, you'll be helping carers like Agnes, but also carers like Jack. Who is six years old and supports his mum who has mental ill health and osteoporosis. Jack helps his mum a lot and sometimes misses out on things other six year olds take for granted. Jack is able to come to some of our activity groups and is helped by our Young Carers Team.
If you can help us please donate. Plus you'll get to see us running round in silly Christmas outfits!
