Story
So last year, thanks to your support and encouragement, we successfully reached Everest Base Camp and managed to raise nearly £20,000 to help the Rohingya Refugees living in Cox Bazar, Bangladesh.
This year we've decided to fulfill our childhood dream and conquer Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world. This December we are hoping to summit Kilimanjaro, reaching 19,341ft insha Allah (higher than Everest Base Camp). We will be trekking through a range of landscapes and climates and have already been told that the summit night, will be the hardest challenge of our lives.
It's all for an amazing cause. This year we will be fundraising for Penny Appeal's Disaster Emergency Response Programmes.
Help us protect and save thousands of families from the devastating effects of natural disasters and conflict. War, famine, disease, poverty & climate change have immobilised communities and Penny Appeal need your support to be able to deploy life-saving medical aid, food, clothing, sanitation, and shelter, to those who've been left incredibly vulnerable.
The teams are currently providing support in:-
- Syria and neighbouring countries, where refugees are battling to survive.
- Yemen, where civilians are targeted amidst conflict, faced with famine and are struggling to receive medical treatment for Cholera.
- Burma, where Rohingya communities are being persecuted.
- Palestine, where people are living amid conflict.
- Bangladesh, helping those affected by the Sunamganj Floods and providing essential aid to Rohingya refugees.
- Indonesia, helping those affected by a powerful earthquake that hit the Indonesian Island of Lombok.
- Mozambique, Malawi, Zimbabwe, helping those affected by Cyclone Idai.
- Areas affected by the famine in East Africa, such as Somalia, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Kenya.
100% of your donation will go to the cause, making it Zakat eligible.
It would mean a lot to have your continued support, whilst we take one another challenge, fundraising for another important cause, so please follow our journey and donate as much or as little as you can. Thank you!
