Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In November 2008, my good friend and colleague, Terry Bennett died of Cancer. Macmillan Cancer Support looked after him and supported his wife, Sarah, and their two young daughters. Due to the fantastic support they gave the whole family during this time, I would like to be able to help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support to enable them to help other families in similar situations. After 15 years as Master Carpenter at the Criterion Theatre in London's West End, I have been given the opportunity to take an unpaid sabbatical. Just before Christmas I bought myself a 16 foot Wayfarer sailing dinghy with the idea of attempting to sail around Britain raising funds. I will set off from St Katherines Dock in London on 3rd June and hope to be back at work, having returned there, early September 2010.
Friends will be joining me aboard the Orlathea as I sail my way around Britain. You can follow my progress at www.simonrenton.co.uk. Please support me in my effort to raise money for this worthwhile charity.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you for all the support which you are able to give me.
