My name is Safura Said, I'm 29 and I'll be taking part in the National 3 Peaks Challenge. 

The challenge entails three separate hikes to all 3 peaks:

This year, as everyone made their New Years resolutions, I sat and reflected on the blessings we have and often take for granted. Health being the most prominent. As a single parent, my main concern has always been to be the best version of myself for my young son. Physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I have always taken pride in being extremely active, but I really wanted to step outside of my comfort zone this year and not only put myself out there, but to also do something that would make a difference. 

I chose this charity because, unfortunately cancer has infected the lives of many of my close loved ones. Some made it through to the end of the battle but many didn't. We are extremely lucky to have the facilities and medication we do in the UK to help with such a horrific disease, but in Pakistan many cannot afford even the simplest of treatments. I think about the mothers who can't afford treatment, leaving behind young children. I think about the men that can't afford treatment, who end up leaving behind their women to fend for themselves and their families. I think about the children who return to their Lord...

So as we sit in our homes, I request that you try and donate even as little as £1 (with the right intentions), in hope that your generous donations benefit those in dire need.
