Story
I am a member of a team of four mothers who climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. The climb was a huge success, but more importantly the Tanzanian press came out in force and we were on TV, Radio and in the papers informing the people of the dangers of syringe re-use. The problems out there are huge, but we feel that we have made a difference and we have had a really positive response. We met people who's children were dying of HIV and they did not know why. They were shocked, but now understand that this could be the cause. When "One injection, One syringe" were their parting words to us, in English, we knew we had done some good.
The money you donate will be used to supply Tanzania with specifically designed syringes that can only be used once. £10 will buy 250 syringes. Those people who now ask for a clean syringe will get one.
Safe Point founder, Marc Koska OBE has been successful in the legislation of syringe re-use in more than 15 countries. These single use syringes are now being used in India with great success and Tanzania is one of four African Countries which are now being targetted. It has always been something that I have wanted to help with and this is a wonderful opportunity to do so. Watch this film and you will understand why. www.lifesaveraction.org
