Story
I am so lucky to be here! 12 years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer and today, thanks to the tremendous support and expertise of a doctor, a surgeon, a consultant, a team of radiographers, nurses, researchers and counsellors at Salisbury and Southampton Hospitals I am here, fitter and stronger than ever walking a marathon.
It is impossible to express my gratitude to the huge team of people who aided my recovery with words. But I can walk through the night (for rather a long time!) with some wonderful ladies - Tracey, Carol and Louise - to raise funds for breast cancer charities, so that others will have the chance to express their gratitude in the years to come.
Waiting to hear about the results after surgery, my daughter Freya said 'Tell me how I can live without the person I can't live without?' Such grown-up words from a little girl but they are the words thought by so many people everyday. Please donate just a little so that daughters and sons, mothers, fathers, family and friends never have to hear the answer for this most devestating of questions.
