Story
Hi, thanks for visiting our charity fund raising page for Pilgrims Hospice.
The Challenge
We are attempting to ride (120) miles before the end of September! Starting from (Dover Castle), We will complete an epic tour of the region's historic castles along my virtual route before finishing with a ride from the Tower of London back to Canterbury..
We started the challenge on September 12th, riding 73 miles taking in Dover, Walmer, Deal, Richborough and Canterbury Castles. The follow weekend we were out on our bikes again and pedalled from Victoria Station to the Tower of London, onto Greenwich foot tunnel, riding beneath the River Thames. We then continued riding back though North Kent, visiting Upnor Castle and Rochester Castle. This gave us the 10 castles required to complete the challenge.
To continue getting the donations in we decided to continue cycling on the 26th September, well exceeding the expected mileage of 120 miles.
On a cold, wet and windy morning we set off from Hollingbourne Station and started another challenging 50 mile ride, visiting 6 castles on route.
Leeds Castle, Sutton Vallence, Sissinghurst Castle, Bodium Castle then arriving at Rye Castle.
Well we made it in good time just before the rain arrived. Enjoying coasting the bikes down the hill into Rye.

While for many of us doing our part during the current health crisis means social distancing, Pilgrims Hospices nurses and support staff are Still Here; Still Caring and are continuing to provide skilled and compassionate end-of-life care for people living with life-limiting illness across east Kent.
By sponsoring our challenge, you'll truly be making a difference to the lives of people living with a life-limiting illness and their families.
Thank you.
