Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
On August 17th I will be setting off from London by bike, hoping to arrive safely in Paris five days later and would love your support and sponsorship!
All the money I will raise will go straight to Macmillan who provide excellent care and support to those with Cancer and their families.
In 2007 my father Mark was diagnosied with Lung Cancer. He was young, only 51, and a fit and healthy non-smoker who loved spending all his spare time out on his bike and taking on rides that we, his family, never would have had the energy to do.
Dad was determined to beat Cancer. Lance Armstrong was his role model. He never gave away how ill he must have felt.
Sadly, after a valiant fight, just six months after diagnosis on January 2nd 2008 he passed away.
Dad himself raised money for Cancer Research by cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End and also took part in the challenging Paris-Brest-Paris ride. He would have loved this London to Paris Challenge so this is for him. It's time to dust off his racing bike and get it back out on the open road!
Everyone knows someone affected by cancer in some way. What Macmillan do so well is support on all levels. For me, their website helped answer my questions. For others it's support through home visits. They really make a difference.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you,
Love Sabrina
