Story
Shaun and Daniel are running the 23rd April 2023 London Marathon to raise money and awareness for Huntingtons Disease Association.
Huntington’s Disease (HD) is an illness caused by a faulty gene in your DNA. HD is not something you can catch - it is inherited. Every child conceived to a parent who carries the HD gene has a 50% chance of inheriting it. Currently, there is no cure and the Huntingtons Disease Association do vital things to offer ongoing help and support to the HD community.
Shaun and Daniel are running the London Marathon in order to raise funds for the HDA. It is a charity which is close to our family’s heart. Shaun’s late Wife, Daniel and Laura’s Mother, sadly died having suffered a long and courageous battle with HD in 2013 aged just 46 years old. 2023 marks the 10 year anniversary of her death. This is an opportunity to give something back to a charity that offers help to young people, their families, their extended families and wider support network.
Shaun and Daniel will be setting themselves some challenging finish time targets. Daniel is hoping to set himself a PB and Shaun isn’t getting any younger! 🏅
In a time where we appreciate finances are tight, any donations, no matter how small are gratefully received and also allows us to help raise awareness for HD.
Thank you,
Shaun and Daniel. 🏃♂️ 🏃
