The National Three Peaks Challenge

We (Mick Barraclough, Steven Cobban and Sam Bailey) will be attempting the Three Peak Challenge on 3 November 2013 (starting at 04:00).  If this is not hard enough we are doing it unaided which means our team of three will be doing the 3 peaks and driving all the way in under 24 hours.

The driving route itself is 462 miles long, and takes around ten - eleven hours in good traffic.

The Ben Nevis route is 10.5 miles (17km), up and down, and includes 1352 metres of ascent.

Scafell Pike 6 miles long, up and down, and includes 989 metres of ascent.

Snowdon 7 miles, 11km, up and down, and an ascent of 723 metres

We are all doing this challenge in support of the Neuroblastoma Children's Cancer Alliance which is an incredibly deserving and worthwhile charity providing amazing support to children and families affected by this awful disease. Your donations will be used to help babies and children with neuroblastoma to get help if they can't join a UK trial or if they need a clinical treatment that is only available abroad.  Donations will help fund children's treatment costs, support families and pay for research into this terrible disease.

In particular, we have all been inspired by the story of Jamie Inglis who battled this brutally aggressive cancer for half his young life.  In his memory we will help continue the fight against neuroblastoma to help other families affected by the disease and to try and ensure that others do not have to experience what Jamie went through.  Please look at these links and make up your own mind:
