A little bit about me: my name is Ryland Davies (thats me at the front of the picture in the canoe) I am currently studying A-levels at Rydal Penrhos in North Wales. I am a very keen Rugby Player, hockey player and am the current North Wales Schools Sailing Champion. I have a very keen interest in outdoor pursuits. I am taking a gap year before going onto university to study film producing, editing and directing. The course at Project Trust in Hong Kong is idyllic for me as I go to a boarding school and some of my best friends are from Hong Kong. Hong Kong is becoming one of the most developed nations in the world 

In school I am part of the social committee, the charity committee and the eco-committee I am a fully qualified St. Johns ambulance first aider and will be taking my life saving swimming award next year. Playing rugby I feel I work well in a team and am encouraging of participants to have fun and try their hardest, no matter the outcome. 

My Project: I hope to be going to Hong Kong in my gap year to teach and develop the personal and physical skills of outward-bound activities. The Outward Bound trust was established in 1970 and organizes courses for a wide range of people, ranging from, primary school children and the disabled to businessmen and young offenders. As a volunteer there my time will be divided between 3 different types of work, I will be helping instructors on land-based activities, sea-courses and then the last rotation will be on the water front repairing maintaining boats and equipment.

To achieve this goal I need to raise funds totaling £4660, below I have explained fully how my funds will be used.  It also indicates some of the fund raising activities I am planning to undertake.  After reading my quest I hope you will consider making a donation that will help me achieve one of my life goals.
