In 1921, over nine million poppies were created and sold on 11 November. Today, over five million Scottish poppies are still made by hand by disabled ex-Servicemen & ex-Servicewomen at Lady Haig's Poppy Factory each year distributed by Poppyscotland.

Story

On the 25th-26th June i'll be taking part in a 24 hour running challenge. I'll be aiming to run up and down Meigle Hill and Mosilee Hill in Galashiels for 24 hours. I'm doing this in Memory of my cousin Craig and raising funds for Poppy Scotland on his family's behalf. Craig passed away very suddenly last year and he has left a hole in many lives. He loved supporting Remembrance day. With his dad being in the armed forces, he enjoyed the whole experience. I'm hoping to raise vital funds for this amazing charity. Every little helps, these guys do an amazing job supporting our ex service men and woman. Each and everyone of them are heroes and deserve to be treated as such.

the offer is open to anyone who wants to join me, doesn't have to be for 24 hours, maybe just a rep or 2 of the hills! any and all support is very much appreciated.

The Scottish Poppy Appeal raises over £2 million each year. Poppyscotland was established in 1921 as The Earl Haig Fund Scotland but adopted their current name and logo in 2006 to reflect their revised fundraising activities andwelfare services work. In June 2011 Poppyscotland merged with their sister charity The Royal British Legion (TRBL), which operates in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, to form the largest charity group supporting the Armed Forces community across the whole of the UK. Poppyscotland continue to operate as a distinct charity within the TRBL group of charities, relying entirely on public donations to allow us to continue our life-changing work.
